Discover the intriguing English countryside in all its glory - from ancient archaeological marvels to the home of Jane Austen; learn about the history, mystery, romance and literature of these English sites.
Explore the ancient and mysterious Stonehenge, the scenic city of Bath and if you upgrade, the royal town of Windsor. This one-day tour includes all sightseeing and entrance fees. An expert guide will accompany you throughout the day, bringing the sites to life with interesting commentary.
Your day trip from London will start from Gloucester Road tube station, where you will meet your guide and board an air-conditioned coach. You will head to the gorgeous Georgian town of Bath. People have been visiting the city for centuries to see the warm springs bubbling up at a temperature of 46.5 degree Celsius. Home to author Jane Austen and two of her famous novels – Persuasion and Northanger Abbey, Bath was re-invented in the 18th century, and some of the sophisticated Georgian buildings like the Circus and Royal Crescent were constructed. You will visit all of these and much more during your excursion.
Continue your journey through the English countryside to the final destination of your tour, Stonehenge. This amazing and still somewhat incomprehensible site is believed to have been built between 3000 and 2000 BC. The prehistoric stone circle and its surroundings are a designated UNESCO World Heritage site, having recently been restored back to its original unaltered landscape.
To complete your tour of West England, add a tour of the royal town of Windsor. Walk the meandering streets lined with Tudor houses, which look like they stepped out of a Shakespearean play. Your guide will give you fascinating insights into the British Royal Family. Enter the opulent Windsor Castle with a handy audio-guide, and explore the ornate State Apartments where visiting dignitaries are hosted amid the artworks by Rembrandt and Rubens. Admire the intricate Gothic architecture of St. George’s Chapel, final resting place of monarchs including King Henry VIII. The royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took place here in May 2018.
